Patient safety and medication errors are at the forefront of the health care industry and the general public. This is because medication errors are one of the leading causes of death and injury in the United States. A recent report by the Institute of Medicine estimates that as many as 44,000 to 98,000 people die each year as a result of medication errors.
Description
At this seminar, you will get an updated overview of patient safety techniques utilized in different healthcare settings as well as the opportunity to practice techniques that will enhance patient safety.
The registration fee includes tuition, all instructional materials, continental breakfast and continuing education credit.

Target Audience
This program is intended for pharmacists who practice in any area of pharmacy.

Requirements
Attendence at all portions of the program and completion of the course evaluation is required to receive ACPE credit. Statements of credit will be mailed in 4-6 weeks.
Lodging and Transportation
Visitor parking on the UGA campus is available (fee is charged) at the South Campus Deck adjacent to the GA Center for Continuing Education on Lumpkin Street.
