Hurricane Katrina took over 1800 lives, left some 9000 people homeless and caused over 80 billion dollars in damage. Do you know what natural disasters could strike in your community? your State?
Nearly 3000 Americans died on September 11, 2001. Anthrax attacks later that same year took 5 lives and resulted in mass prophylaxis of thousands from New York to Miami. What role would you be expected to take if terrorists attacked your community?

Description
The Georgia Board of Pharmacy enacted a new rule this year requiring that all pharmacists licensed in the state obtain 3 hours of disaster preparedness continuing education. This series of 3 presentations is designed to provide an introduction to disasters for pharmacists and outline the steps involved in preparing for, planning for, and responding to emergencies.
Target Audience
This program is intended for all pharmacists licensed in Georgia.

The Emergency Preparedness for Pharmacy 3.0 hour (0.30CEUs) will be presented October 2, 2010 from 1:45pm - 4:45 pm.
